Permission to Start Dreaming
Since 2011, the foundation has sought and supported local organizations that offer alternative therapies which help soldiers and their families readjust to life back home. We have also developed our own strength-based programs with monthly peer to peer support meetings called “Huddles” in Tacoma, Gig Harbor, growing to Bremerton soon. In addition, we have delivered Mind, Body and Spirit workshops, courage and leadership summits, eliminated barriers for veterans to receive equine therapy and counseling, and smoothed the way for many local veterans and first responders to attend a progressive week long retreat that offers combat stress recovery and focuses on post traumatic growth. Our commitment to finding answers and programs for the long journey of healing from the invisible wounds of war and service-related injuries is resolute. Our events connect community to support this mission. By getting involved, you are joining the thousands of compassionate allies and citizens who want to offer hope and healing for those who serve our nation and our community.

Rainbow Center
Through education, advocacy, and celebration, Rainbow Center expands resources and safe spaces for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, two-spirit, and allied (LGBTQ2SA) community. For more than 20 years, Rainbow Center has served as a resource hub for the LGBTQ2SA community in South Puget Sound. Rainbow Center has daily open hours during which resources (including a lending library, computer and Wi-Fi access, advocacy services, and educational materials) are available to community members. Each year, we provide direct services to 1,000 individuals, greet almost 4,000 visitors at the Rainbow Center, and reach thousands more through events and partnerships. Our Education Program offers high-quality workshops and training for individuals, businesses, and groups seeking to learn how to engage, support, and serve the LGBTQ2S community, and to deepen their understanding of it. Finally, celebrating the LGBTQ2S community is a huge part of our mission. We host social programs and events for the LGBTQ2S community all year. We are also proud to host two of the most amazing celebrations in Tacoma/Pierce County: Tacoma Pride and our annual Gayla. The board meets on the first Monday of each month from 7:00-9:00 pm. If you'd like to attend a board meeting as a guest, please email us at Info@rainbowcntr.org for the meeting location or Zoom link.
